State Board of Education

Ken Mckenna is a product of our State's education system. He attributes his success in life to the experiences he had in Nevada Elementary, Junior High and High Schools.

When Ken was just 6-years-old and in the first grade, he quickly realized that his elementary school gave him something which he didn't have at home. School was a sanctuary away from the violence and dysfunctional home environment which was often caused by an alcoholic father.

In school Ken's achievements were acknowledged and encouraged. School was where Ken could really find himself and aspire to be the best he could be. These newly awakened feelings toward school, education, and the joy of accomplishment were the cornerstones for Ken's entire schooling experience.

Having graduated College and Law School, Ken is now a highly successful Nevada Attorney. He understands better than most, exactly what it means to give children a positive school experience. One which encourages their personal growth and also excites their inner desire to learn and accomplish great things.

Ken's education experience as a child is becoming something which is harder and harder to find.

To Ken, that is simply unacceptable.

When he is elected to the State Board of Education, Ken McKenna will use all of his ability to give every child a positive, rewarding and encouraging educational experience.
